Still loving Luna Park

As a kid we were treated to a special outing at Luna Park now and again. I look back fondly on those times and only wish I could find not only the time but more so the money to take my kids to see this great Melbourne Icon. I am only 43 so it makes me sound old when I say as a kid, it seems so long ago. But I often think of the Scenic Railway, the Ghost Train and the Rotor all fantastic rides. I don’t know if they are still there but I sure would love to take my kids and go and find out.My rating goes on teenage memories

Hi there luna park was a great place to go, we would go ice skating then head to luna park the best ride ever was the rotor. I loved it. Never caught me in there with a skirt or dress on. It cost so much now and there is no rotor. I miss those days too,
Have to agree on all counts. You really had to watch what you wore. Going from St Moritz Ice Skating rink and then to Luna Park you definately wore jeans or shorts. Sad to hear the rotor is not there anymore I will take my kids one day maybe tomorrow or tomorrow, OOPS shouldn’t say that tomorrow never comes.
Luna Park has become so sterile and cold, literally. It has lost its ‘real’ charm and warmth of the old days, all I have is memories of my son’s blue lips on ride and leaving early because it was a freezing uncomfortable place (even in summer)! Never again.
